Managing Your ChemiDoc Pro Imaging System

The ChemiDoc Pro Imaging System provides high-sensitivity, high-quality image acquisition for a range of scientific applications. Using Image Lab Touch software on the instrument touch screen, you can acquire a single-channel image or a multi-channel image of up to four channels. Each channel represents a separate image captured using a specific detection mode, such as fluorescence, chemiluminescence, or colorimetric imaging.

After linking the ChemiDoc Pro Imaging System to BR.io, you can export images directly to BR.io. Exported images appear on the Files page, and the export initiates auto-analysis with BR.io Advanced Image Analysis capabilities and provides tools to manually analyze imported images or refine auto-analysis results. You can also configure the imager to automatically export images to BR.io. For more information, see Automatically Exporting Images from ChemiDoc Pro Imaging System to BR.io.

BR.io Advanced Image Analysis includes:

Automated image analysis — Automated detection of lanes and bands and, when a standard is applied, calculation of molecular weights for supported single-channel (.scn) and multi-channel ( .mscn) files.

Comprehensive image data — Image metadata, acquisition information, and analysis results for each exported image.

●

Structured analysis tables — Lane and band data, key measurements, and results in an organized table format.

●

Visual overlays — Overlays such as saturated pixels, borders, lanes, and bands directly on the image for enhanced interpretation.

●

Histogram & Adjustments — Contrast and brightness controls, including a combination of Low and High values, Gamma (grayscale curve adjustments), Auto adjustment, and image inversion to improve visibility of bands and lanes. These adjustments affect display only and do not modify image data.

●

Standard definition and configuration — Tools to define standards to calibrate and interpret image data accurately.

Background subtraction — Controls to apply and adjust background subtraction to improve analysis accuracy and clarity.

Important: To use BR.io Advanced Image Analysis, you must link your ChemiDoc Pro Imaging System to your BR.io account. For more information, see Linking Your ChemiDoc Pro Imaging System to BR.io.

Important: ChemiDoc Pro secure image files support Histogram & Adjustments and saturated pixel display only. These adjustments cannot be saved to the image file.
